What are some good ways to practice golf in you’r backyard?

golf
FWC asked:

I was wondering what are some good ways to practice golf in you’r backyard prferably without spending tons of money, please. I don’t have that big of a yard, I also live in a decently busy neighborhood so I dont want to hit a car or a home. Basically put, what are some safe and fun ways to practice golf in my backyard? I would like ideas that include woods, irons, wedges, and putter. If you could list a (few) websites that have products that I could purchase to use please do so.
Thanks for all the help,
TigerWoodsFan.

You could hit balls into a net, but that doesn’t give feedback on your ball flight. You could work on your ball striking though. I like hitting wiffle golf balls for fun, but the feeling is really different from real balls.

    Hello TWF

Besides hitting into a net and putting down some astroturf for putting that only leaves chipping.

Chipping is on of the most important aspects of the game and is probably the least practiced. I would say to put a basket in the yard at different distances each day, day 1 put it about 15 yards away. Dont stop hitting balls untill you get in say 3 in a row , then day 2 put the basket about 20 to 25 yards away and repeat.

For putting practice you can always go to the local course and putt around on the practice green .

Hit some plastic golf balls . Over time your swing will really improve because you don’t try to hit them so hard and will groove a really good swing . Because you can apply it to real balls as well. Otherwise just keep chipping real balls as well which will improve your short game around the greens . Good Luck Mate .
